I'm a t.v star! Wait, i'm a yogi! Wait, I don't know what i'm doing

The coolest thing happened.

I was on TV!!!

Well I was more of a blur in the background.

I guess you could call me a celebrity now.

It was on the show North Shore as a background actor if you're interested. Don't ask me what its about though, I don't even know.

I am enjoying my background acting. Its a nice break from sitting a desk. I don't think I would ever do acting full time but who knows? That might change.

I encourage everyone to give background acting a go! Honestly you need 0 prior experience and you don't have to be crazy passionate about performing. You just sign up through an agency and they will let you know when jobs come up and when I tell you anyone can do this, I mean anyone. I met a 60 year old woman at one of my jobs and there were definitely some homeless people signing up for jobs.

If you're lucky, you might end up like me, a simple smudge in the background.

I do have further advice if you ever decide to do it!

  • Always bring extra clothes for wardrobe changes

  • Bring your tax information to every job

  • Try and wear things that have pockets so you can bring your phone to set. Trust me, you'll get bored so easily!

I went on a Yoga retreat for a weekend. I had never been on a yoga retreat before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I went with two friends and it was a lot of fun. When I heard they only serve vegan food, I almost fell to the ground and started bawling, but I kept my cool together. Yes, I very nicely vocalised my disappointment but I did not let it get in the way of a groovy weekend. I was also informed there was to be no alcohol. Naturally, we stopped at the liquor store on our way there.

The retreat was located in the bush which would normally bother me but instead, I was sort of excited to be amongst nature. It felt like the right environment. Very organic.

Our bedrooms sort of reminded me of school camp. Not what I was imagining for a yoga retreat but I wasn't complaining. School camps were always fun.

I ate a salad.

I bragged about eating a salad.

I took photographic evidence of the salad.

If you didn't already guess, I never eat salad.

I hate salad.

The next day we were up bright and early for yoga.

OH. MY. GOD.

Yoga is one of the hardest things I have ever done.

My body simply does not move that way. The most basic poses were even a struggle. Ugh warrior pose! My arms were evidently shaking as they tried to support my body in an unnatural pose.

My face turned into a tomato as I elevated my legs into an interesting arabesque-ish pose with my back almost giving out.

The instructor was so kind! she came and helped me as much as she could and was so patient. It made the class a whole lot easier.

It is safe to say yoga is not for me.

On the bright side it was much better the next day despite my aching muscles and the fact we were slightly late. The instructor even gave me a flower at the end of class as a way to say 'well done' but I think she just pitied me. I digress, lets get back to day one.

we went to a workshop.

"Introduction to astrology"

Why did no one tell me Scorpio is a dangerous sign? I swear i'm a kind person.

I already knew Scorpios weren't loved in the astrology community, but I wasn't notified of the judgement I would receive not only from the bloke running the workshop, but the rest of the room.

All of us had to go around the room and say our star signs "Gemini, Aries, Sagittarius..."

and then me "Scorpio"

The man did a double take "O-Okay"

The room laughed.

I know they weren't laughing at me. They were laughing at his reaction but I still felt slightly uncomfortable for the rest of the workshop.

That was until my personal favourite part...Getting up and walking out in the middle of it because we had a massage to get too. If the guy didn't like me then, he sure doesn't now.

I'm sure he was thinking "Classic Scorpio"

You want some advice? I'll give it to you:

If you're a Scorpio, be a Scorpio.

Be proud to be a Scorpio.

For we are not defined by some theory that the alignment of the stars on our birthdays determines our personality and traits.

Wear your horoscope with pride!

I cannot believe I am writing about horoscopes.

What has my blog come to?

I am going on a club crawl this weekend which should be great fun. Four free drinks! I went to a pub crawl on the gold coast and it was quite fun. We didn't find the club crawl online, instead we were stopped on the street by a friendly man who wanted to try and sell us some tickets. At first I thought it was a scam (and rightfully so). I hate to assume the worst in people but I just didn't fully trust the man (He said 'youse' a lot). Regardless of my skepticism, we bought tickets and thank goodness it was legit. Would've been embarrassing if we were scammed by a gold coast bogan.

I am going to see Drax Project in two weeks and I am very keen. I want to say a big thank you to Stephen who will be joining me, despite his limited knowledge of the band. I promised in return that I would see some abba event at the rsl with him. I treasure our friendship.

Also anyone going to Taylor Swift? I'm going to try my hardest to get tickets but so nobody wants to go with me :(

At this point i'm going by myself which is a shame but at least I can say I went to the concert!

I'm not even a swiftie but I would really love to see Don't blame me live. I really love that song. I hope that she performs more songs from Speak Now. My sister received the album for her birthday or maybe it was christmas, but my goodness we had that album on repeat in the car. I would listen to Haunted constantly but I can never listen to Sparks Fly again, that was my sisters favourite and as you can guess, that was also on repeat.

I remember almost everyone performing to 'We are never getting back together' in the 2012 school talent quest. That is maybe my least favourite Taylor Swift single. "weeeEEEE are never ever ever ever ever getting back together"...pure poetry.

Anyhoo for all you swifties out there, good luck!
